In May of 2007, Dr. Robert Weltman signed a contract with WTBQ Broadcasting (1110 AM) in Florida, New York to begin a live radio program from 4:00pm - 5:00pm every Thursday. The name of the show is "Spiritual Healing Radio" and its broadcast serves the Mid-Hudson Valley as well as parts of Northern New Jersey. The radio show covers topics such as addiction, fear, depression, disabilities, our human mind, criminality, religion, spirituality and day to day struggles. It addresses our relationships with our Creator and each other and promotes Dr. Weltman’s Christian Laity Foundation which was formed to support the teaching of a skilled prayer and meditative life. Dr. Robert Weltman, an accomplished clinical psychologist, was born and raised in the Jewish tradition and lives in New York. He received his PhD from Yeshiva University in 1964. After many years of maintaining a successful private practice and becoming Director of Counseling for a college, Dr. Weltman went on to become the head of Psychology for a New York State Psychiatric hospital for the criminally insane from which he retired in 1994. Dr. Weltman brings to his listeners a unique blend of healing that addresses the frail psychology of the human mind complimented by an awakening of our spiritual self and the Oneness we share with our Creator. Originally, Dr. Bob (as he is affectionately called) began his show with one co-host, Pastor Dan Morris. They discussed the topic of the week while incorporating guests and call-ins. As the broadcasts continued, Pastor Dan Morris relocated and could no longer participate in the show. Dr. Bob didn’t miss a beat and immediately introduced two other co-hosts (and good friends) to the show both who are members of the Christian Laity Foundation. The first co-host is Joe Franklin, whose background includes being a Catholic Priest as well as a Nurse. For years he performed missionary work overseas, serving the poor in clinics in Nicaragua before returning back to the United States where he retired. Living in New York, his belief that the Christian churches needed to be reunited and reconciled led him to serve in the parishes of the Catholic Church, Reformed Church of America and three United Methodist Churches in an effort to fulfill his vision. All three churches claim him as their own. The second co-host is Reverend Bill Johnston, a retired Minister with the United Methodist Church. After retiring from full time ministry, he taught American History to High School students in Washingtonville, New York. He is now living in North Carolina where he performs part time pastoral duties in local town parishes. These three gentlemen embarked on a journey of discovery, taking their listeners to higher levels of understanding the complexity of our human minds and how it interferes with our spiritual self and providing the much needed tools necessary to receive one’s healing. The Footladder of Notes Divine verses were introduced to the programming as a teaching tool. These verses were penned by Dr. Bob and came to him as divine dictation. Dr. Bob felt he needed a woman’s voice in the group so he called on his friend Kim Taronji as the fourth co-host of the show. Kim is thirty years their junior and also a member of the Christian Laity Foundation. She manages the CLF website and supports Dr. Bob’s administrative needs. Currently living in Florida, it has always been her belief that God loves all his creations and that eventually we will all return back to Him. Raised Catholic she eventually moved to a non-denominational charismatic church, The Vineyard Christian Fellowship. A member of the worship team, she sang, traveling with the team and performing at venues. Kim has been involved with many ministries one of which brought her to Israel where she studied and experienced the culture, customs and history. With Dr. Bob as the Host and Joe Franklin, Reverend Bill Johnston and Kim Taronji and Co-hosts, Spiritual Healing Radio has never been better. It is Dr. Bob’s goal to continue providing his listeners quality radio that will support their daily lives and struggles they face, knowing their Creator as a loving God and providing the tools they need to pray and meditate and to ultimately receive the healing God has for them.
