Immortality

1. What is Immortality?
On a number of occasions, I have come aware of myself as a spirit being, without the presence of my body. It is that spirit "me" which I believe to be the real me, and the spirits, unlike bodies are eternal. Two examples of Jesus reminding us of the reality of ourselves in spirit form is His asking us "Doesn't the law tell you that you are gods?" And in another anecdote, reminding us that in heaven we are like angels.

2. Are all living things immortal or just human?
Jesus sets this to rest in John 6:63 "It is the Spirit that gives life, the flesh has nothing to offer." I guess that settles it.

3. Is God immortal?
In my out of body experiences, I watch what I know to be the Jesus person emerges from a cloud bank awaiting me. As part of the Trinitarian concept, that would place God in that dimension as well.

4. Why are we immortal?
Thank God for that being the way he would create us. As God's beloved children, we always will experience the feeling state of God, all the joy, never ending, just as God would experience it Himself. Notice too, verse #'s 2 and 9 in the Footladder of Notes Divine, where God affirms this matter as well. God gifts us with everything that pleasures Him, including an eternal identity and essence. After all, He's a loving parent.
